Professor Smith’s Mobile Myths

Professor Smith is a typical English local historian, dedicated to the conservation and promotion of old stories, customs, legends and folklore. To this end, he sets out with his mobile library archive, travelling the country offering tellings or re-enactments of curious local tales associated with the location or date of the performance. This mythological mobile archive is of course not propelled by anything as vulgar as a van however, it is horse-drawn, therefore enabling Kitunda Argyle to maintain their tradition of utilising inappropriately inauthentic animal costumes at every possible opportunity…

Commissioned by the Gone in 20 Minutes Outdoor Arts Showcase. Performed in Spitalfields, and the Stockton International Riverside Festival 2011
